Brevity is the soul of wit

Gigantic fue mi novena. Otra película de Zooey, de hecho sólo comencé a verla por ella. Y como no podría ser de otro modo, si está Zooey, la película es romántica. Pero también tiene sus partes cómicas, aunque no tantas. En fin, la película me entretuvo.

¿De qué va? Brian es un tipo que vende colchones y quiere adoptar un bebe chino. Es un deseo que tiene desde los ocho años. A todo esto, parece no tener futuro ni plantearselo. Y, para colmo, es acosado por un tipo que siempre que puede lo golpea. Lo bueno es que en las películas siempre suceden cosas convenientes, sobre todo si son comedias y románticas. Entonces, un día conoce a Happy, el personaje de Zooey, y su vida no cambia. Pero al menos es mejor.

Brian: Okay, he stopped.

Larry: Which one?

Brian: S-seven.

Larry: Start the stopwatch.

Brian: Is he okay?

Larry: Yeah, he's fine... Stop.

Brian: What does that mean?

Larry: Nothing. Well, the logic is that when forced into an aversive situation, i.e., being dumped into a pool, the rat will oscillate between attempts to escape and resigning to its fate.

Brian: Oh, and this guy gave up.

Larry: Today he did.

Brian: Does he usually?

Larry: Yeah. See, I'm trying to quantify how helpless this one feels, and why more today than yesterday. Though it seems that Mr. Seven is always a little bit of a quitter.
